Mechanical Engineering Department Head
Nimir Desai is the head of the Mechanical Engineering Department at RLR. Mr. Desai graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology and has over 18 years of experience in mechanical design and construction of commercial retail, mixed-use and institutional projects. Mr. Desai is an active member of ASHRAE and licensed to practice engineering in several states.
Mr. Desai’s responsibilities include the generation and review of mechanical and plumbing construction design documents and specifications on projects. He coordinates with Owners/Developers to design code compliant energy efficient mechanical system as well as understanding the needs of the building maintenance staff that can help save time and labor. During construction phase, Mr. Desai monitors mechanical and plumbing construction progress, works with contractors to address design changes due to field conditions, and creates punch list during final review of projects.
