RLR’s diverse group of Architects and Engineers share the common goal of providing high quality and efficient consulting services through one point of contact, enabling our clients to transfer more of their work onto us. Our real-time data management software provides our project managers with the tools needed to control project costs and schedules.
Our internal “consulting” engineers continually develop the constructability of their plans through regular site observations, each time acquiring new knowledge. This practice, unique to firms with in-house “consultants,” is possible because RLR’s interest is in providing the best product possible, not in hiring the most economical consultants.
The Kroger Company
The relationship between Robertson Loia Roof and The Kroger Company spans nearly four decades, resulting in professional design services for over 200 stores. The delivery of quality designs and a high level of service has resulted in an increased role with Kroger in many of the national regions. These design services include new, remodel and expansion for typical stores ranging from 80,000 to 120,000 square feet. Kroger's continued growth and assistance to their customers have proven to be an extremely successful approach to rejuvenating the concept of grocery store hospitality and merchandising including the addition of cafés, banking, medical clinics, Clicklist environments (online shopping experience) and fuel stations to many of their locations.
Since 1986, Robertson Loia Roof has served as the primary design firm for Ingles Markets, headquartered in Black Mountain, North Carolina. This long term relationship has seen the grocery store chain grow to over 200 locations throughout the Southeastern states.
Through the years Robertson Loia Roof has provided architectural and engineering services of new construction from 32,000 square foot stores from the mid-eighties to the 100,000 square foot “state of the art” stores for the 21st century. To help Ingles maintain their continued growth, we have also been influential in providing professional design services of remodeling and expansion of their existing stores.
Ashley Furniture Homestores
RLR was proud to partner with Ashley Furniture Homestore with the new construction of their Alpharetta, Georgia store, and the remodel of their Marietta and Snellville, Georgia stores. As the company is growing, so is their need for new and remodeled space. As their blog states, "At Ashley Furniture HomeStore, we make beautiful home furnishings affordable. In less than 10 years, we have become the No. 1 selling furniture brand in the world and the No. 1 retailer of furniture and bedding in the United States."
In south Florida, an expansive retail development was created and designed by the RLR team. Legacy Place is a distinctive 469,000 square foot mixed-use development located across from the Gardens Mall in the heart of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Working closely with the client and navigating stringent local design review standards, the design was a collaborative effort that satisfied all and complemented the Palm Beach architectural vernacular.
Recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as “Best in Atlanta – Winner” in the mixed/special use category, Lindbergh Plaza has become a destination place for the Buckhead community. Located at the intersection of Sydney Marcus Blvd and Piedmont Road, this mixed use development consists of 265,000 square feet of specialty retail shops offering a broad array of goods and services to the surrounding residential area and is anchored by several retail giants.
Special consideration was given to the master planning of the 21.76 acre site in merging the retail spaces with the residential units on the site. Using architectural elements to proportion the size of the buildings surrounding the site helped create a sense of scale for the pedestrians and a unique identity for each tenant. Rows of trees and planters line the wide benched sidewalks to further emphasizes the sense of scale and safety by creating a buffer for the pedestrians between the street.
